The SOULUTIONN Bio

SOULUTIONN is an American Hip-Hop/Soul band whose repertoire includes elements of R&B, rock, reggae, rap and soul. The permanent members of the group are producer/rapper Andrew L. Williams (Boi Dru) and singer/engineer B. Ceree Myles (Suraiye, as well as lead guitarist Ben Jarrad and Drummer Dale Meadows. Deriving their name from the terms soul, solution and soul + revolution, the group members themselves derive the unique styles they bring from their various places of origin. Williams and Myles hail from Texas and Alabama (respectively). Cederic Gooley (Plex) and Gordon Tubbs, featured artists on Soulutionn's albums, met Williams while in the United States Navy. To date, the group has recorded two albums—both of which are now available commercially through various internet outlets (iTunes, Limewire, Bandcamp, etc). In 2011, the well-known Canadian publication, Peace Magazine, lauded them them as one of the top bands to check out this year.

Though the group officially formed itself just recently in 2009, Soulutionn has already begun to achieve acclaim at a rate that will serve as a model for how markedly vital the role of digital media has become for independent music. The group released their first album under the guidance of the independent label & publisher, Conscious Era and was produced by band member Andrew Williams. The album spawned the international underground hit single, "Journey," without the attention of mainstream media outlets; although it has an unmistakable artistic quality and a very innovative approach in its use of minimalist elements. Their second studio album release, Journey: The Beginning, was released in August 2011 along side the release of two critically acclaimed music video performances for the singles "Water" & "Southern Soul." Amidst the success of their growing fanbase and expanding repertoire, Soulutionn was last reported to have moved from their long time home-base of Hampton Roads, Virginia; relocating to the up-and-coming "Indie Haven" of Houston, Texas. In the meantime, they will continue the Journey tour, which has already debuted on stage in Houston, Baltimore, D.C., Virginia, Outer Banks N.C. and Atlanta.
