Soulutionn is an amazing collaboration of Hip/Hop, R&B, Rock and Jazz. The hip-hop front man, Andrew “Boi Dru” Williams, along with the wonderful vocalist Breanna "Suraiye" Myles and guitarist Gordon Tubbs, showcase their dynamic rhymes and rhythms within the frame of a live music setting. A band with both great music and polished performance chops, Soulutionn is a tough act to match. it is very difficult to find any one doing Hip-Hop in this manner today, especially while merging so many forms of music in the process. Boi Dru hails from Houston, Texas while Suraiye is a native of Alabama and Gordon is from the commonwealth of Virginia. The three use their deep southern roots to create their own, new version of soul music. Boi Dru has stated that, “soul music is the representation of how you feel, and people will accept you for who are as long as you are true to yourself.”
Their recent underground debut album, Journey, is exactly that: a group of young musicians being themselves and bearing their souls on record. Journey, which features Arkansas rapper Cedric "Plex" Gooley, was first released on June 10, 2009 and has stunned audiences everywhere it has been presented. The band has played in a number of major venues and is selling an ever-increasing number of copies of their Journey album as a direct result of the stage performance. Soulutionn has also accumulated a loyal following in Hampton Roads Virginia and is, without a doubt, poised to do so on a national level. This is the embodiment of music the world has waited so long to hear again and the reincarnation of the type of artistry that has seemed to slip away through time. Soulutionn is simply what the name describes- “a solution for the soul,” and their sound will once again give all generations music that can be both felt and related to.
